Automatic Grease Traps

Automatic grease traps are devices that are installed in the drainage system of a commercial kitchen in order to trap grease and oil before it can enter the sewer. GRUs, or grease recovery units, are similar devices that collect and separate FOG (fat, oil and grease) into a specific tank ready for responsible disposal or recycling.

Both automatic grease traps and GRUs are important for businesses because they help to reduce the amount of grease and oil that enters the sewer system. This, in turn, helps to reduce the risk of clogs and flooding as a result of fatbergs, as well as the environmental impact of sewage. Automatic grease traps not only ensure that foodservice and catering premises are acting responsibly but can also reduce the risk of receiving a fine from local authorities.
